In Mark 9 it looks like Jesus is taking things a little too far. But he’s urgently pleading with us to take sin more seriously in our lives. Will we listen and take action?
All of us have or will have some heavy burdens. Living in Christian community means we help others with their burdens and we receive help with ours.
Human nature uses people to our own selfish advantages. Jesus flips our natural tendencies upside down and leads by example to show us how community should really function.
We naturally build community based on affinity. When Jesus builds his community, they seemed incompatible. Yet Jesus invited them to journey together.
