A fight has been building between God and Pharaoh for the future of the Hebrew people. God could have taken one knock out punch and it would have been over. But in this fight he wanted to teach the world something about himself.
As Moses responds in obedience to God, things don’t go the way he expects. In fact, things got worse. Moses experiences disappointment and frustration with God. If you are or have been in a similar place, this part of Exodus will encourage you.
As God calls Moses to confront Pharaoh, he comes up with every excuses he can think of. We can do the same thing as God calls us forward. This encounter is a great way to be reminded our excuses before God will always fall apart.
The birth of Moses was in the middle of a painful and difficult season for the Hebrews. Yet God was not absent from them. He was already unfolding a plan to deliver them.
