Let There Be Light
Leaving A Legacy
How will faith be passed to the next generation? Talk to your kids and grandkids about your life and your faith. Don’t rob the next generation of your testimony to God’s faithfulness and work in your life. Speak it into them. No one should be praying for your children and grandchildren more than you. You are the primary prayer warrior in their lives.
Forgiving Your Past & Blessing Your Future
To be a Christian means we recognize our need for forgiveness can only be met by what happen on the cross. Just like Joseph did with his brothers, Jesus released us of our debts before we could even ask. His sacrifice canceled our debts. He doesn’t just forgive us, but he blesses us and provides for us. Is there someone in your life you need to do the same for?
Everything Is Against Me
You’ve not only thought it, you’ve probably said it. “The world is against me.” But reality can often be far from it. Joseph (and Jacob) have every reason to think that. But they learn that God is actually working through those very struggles for thier good. He is doing the same thing in your life.
Many of us are guilty in asking “Why me?” when something goes wrong or out of plan. We can tend to view it as a personal attack. Joesph felt that same way when he was victimized by the very people who were to protect him the most. That is only when Christ came and revealed himself more valuable than what he had lost. More valuable than that attack.
Let’s Get Ready To Rumble!
Life has a way of forcing us into new seasons and stages of life. Sometimes we go willingly and other times we go with a fight and in those times God meets you in that moment and is speaking over you.
Dysfuction doesn’t eliminate you from God’s purposes, it qualifies you.
Trajectory of the Word
It would be great if we always knew the best decision to make. Many times the choices aren’t so clear. Sometimes the best we have is God’s general direction. In Genesis 24 Abraham is learning to lean into God’s leading in the decisions he faces that affect the covenant generation.
A Three Day Walk
Abraham has waited several decades from the promise of God to come true. When it does it seems like it will all be stripped away in a radical call of obedience. Does Abraham just love God’s promises or does he love God?
When you entered into covenant with God through Jesus, you may not have changed your name, but you got a new identity. God wants people who will live for him and in relationship with him even when “rituals” are broken.
In light of all the broken promises we experience, it is a wonder we trust anyone at all. So how do we trust a God that makes improbable promises to us? How are we suppose to respond to him? Follow along in the story of how Abram puts his trust in God and his promises.
Skyscrapers & Confusion
We acknowledge God, but what do we need to know to know God?
Salvation Leads to Devotion
As you think about your own salvation, what does it elicit? If you’ve been saved, you want to honor God, but if you are struggling, maybe you don’t realize what you’ve been saved from.
